Nevis Fashion Edit | What I Wore

8/17/2017

When you're headed to the tropics, packing essentials tend to be pretty light weight. It's hot! So the less clothing the better in my humble opinion. For my trip to Nevis, I opted for fashionable swimwear, and light airy dresses. A few classic accessories made their way into my bag as well as sunglasses, floppy hats, and strappy sandals. Read on to discover how I mixed and matched these island essentials for a stand out vacay wardrobe.

Nautical Vibes

Nautical styles are timeless and rarely go out of fashion. They add an air of sophistication to any look and far from being kitchy, they manage to be both luxurious and playful at the same time. This sexy and youthful designer bikini by Lisa Kaminski had me smitten at first glance. I love the rope detailing which gives it an extra nautical vibe, while also amping up the sensuality of the look with lacing on the front and back. Lisa has several designs you can mix the striped bandeau with but I loved these side laced bottoms for their stunning red hue and customizable fit. As for accessories, my Panama Hat has become a signature statement for me along with my Versace sunnies. I love the hat's durable construction which is collapsable and easy to pack as well as waterproof (a must for the tropics).

Tropical Prints

With the 2017 Pantone Color of the year named "Greenery", it's no surprise that tropical and palm prints are all the rage this summer. You'll find these prints everywhere from cover ups to maxi dresses, even phone cases are in on the action. Here I'm wearing swimwear and cover up by Lisa Kaminski (Read more about her fabulous limited edition collectible designs.) The neutrals in this python print and grey two-piece went fantastically well with the light green pop of color. If you are going to mix prints, this is the way to do it. I chose minimal accessories for this look keeping it simple with a chic gold chain from a Stella & Dot set, and some boho gold chandelier earrings I've had forever.

Palm Print IPhone case by Ideal of Sweden

Like I said before, even phone cases have gotten into the palm print phenom, and this Ideal of Sweden creation has been earning me so many compliments! It's definitely been my summer favorite from their line up. If you haven't been introduced to Ideal of Sweden's collection you are in for a treat. These fashion forward cases are not only affordable but highly collectible. Every season they release new prints curated to keep up with the latest trends and compliment your wardrobe as the ultimate accessory. Make sure to check out their line up of fashion wallets designed to magnetically attach to the phone cases. Every one I've shown mine to has gone ga-ga over them! I swear you will wonder how you ever lived without them before.
Palm Print Maxi from Blush Boutique in Jacksonville Beach

Who doesn't like walking into a room and turning every head around you? Just me? Didn't think so. This Palm Print Maxi I found at Blush Boutique exceeded my expectations in so many ways. I was obsessed with it on the rack, but when I put it on and realized not only was it a high- low hemline, but also had the sexiest lace up detailing, I was seriously glowing. It's so airy and light and absolutely the perfect dress for the Islands.

Strappy neutral sandals from An Unlikely Pear Boutique
Can we just take a moment and talk about these strappy sandals I found at An Unlikely Pear? They are the perfect neutral to wear with pretty much anything which is ideal for a travel wardrobe that needs versatility. The lace up detailing (noticing a trend here), it uber sexy and ensures the fit and support you need. These heels are ultra comfy and I anticipate wearing them well into the transitional fall season.

Bond Girl Basics

I always wanted to be a Bond girl when I grew up. In Lisa Kaminski's creations, I feel like I at least look the part, (minus the lethal skills, and millions of dollars in my bank account). Who said one pieces can't be damn sexy? I swear these full pieces definitely compete with any skimpy bikini out there. Show off your curves with a little more coverage and tap into your inner bond girl. Bonus!! These are both reversible meaning you get double the fashion at half the cost. I'd consider that a win/win.
Amy West in floppy hat by Cabana Life
I couldn't get this close to the equator without bringing an array of floppy hats. This one from Cabana Life is actually made from plastic but you'd never guess. It collapses, making it easy to pack without destroying, and it's waterproof so no worries that it will lose it's shape when you are splashing around care free in Caribbean.
