Statement Jeans and Bell Sleeves

Jeans can be tricky. I told my husband this week that when investing in wardrobe pieces you can't go wrong spending a little extra money on swimsuits, jeans, and undergarments for that perfect fit. These pieces, if crafted with care, will be staples in your closet and keep you feeling as comfy as you are stylish. I'm not one to shy away from the discount store, and I have scored some favorite pieces of denim for a steal as of late, but in reality, the fabric is never as soft and luxurious as a good pair of investment jeans. With denim prices soaring these days, I thought this striking pair of Palazzo jeans from Anthropologie were pretty reasonably priced for such great fabric and design. Never have I received so many compliments on a pair of jeans as I have these. Pair them with a classic white tee with dramatic bell sleeves and you have one eye catching ensemble.

If you are a classic jeans and t-shirt kinda girl, then maybe it's time to mix it up a little bit. You might have more confidence exploring a trendier look if it uses the same formula you are used to but with a design twist. Layer on a few of your favorite baubles for more interest and if you are feeling really crazy pick one playful accent to throw in just for the heck of it, like these Tortoise Shell sunnies I scored at Target for a steal. This cute little red cross body I received in my latest Le Tote was the perfect pop of color for this all American color palette.

I think sometimes I still hesitate to pair black with blue but then I have to remind myself that it is seriously 2017 and it's ok! I loved pulling in these Emily Sapphire earrings from Kaliada. They are a perfect combo with my layered necklaces.

Londy seriously loves fashion just as much as her big sister. Every time she gets a new outfit she demands to model it right away.
Kids Modeling Tip: When taking pictures of your kids, let them have a lovey or favorite toy. In this case Londy is wearing my necklace because she wants to be like mom. She is carrying a little monkey which adds to the charm of the image, and she is also carrying her snack cup to keep her happy. Whatever works folks. And look how happy, cute, natural she looks?
